I know I’ve been quiet over here but creatively things are just starting to get back on track. I’m working on at least four projects concurrently –as I wrangle the time away from my mom gig. Hopefully in about four months I’ll have a body of work to show for all this stealing time.
Here’s a peek at one of the paintings I’ve got percolating. The almighty dollar is harder to render than I thought.

I’m finding out that Summer is family time. I’m just coming out of three or four weeks dominated by family commitments. For the most part it’s all good stuff. It means travel and receiving travelers. It means warm happy times and it means hard work. Especially since I tried to squeeze in getting some art stuff in there. Things got pretty hectic, but it looks like the family travel / visiting is going to calm down for a spell – so now I can pick up on the full time (as full time as I can manage) making of art.
I’m still trying to figure out how to be a full time mom and artist. So far the time dedicated to wrangling this boy is winning over the time I get to spend at the art desk. I’ve just got to figure it out somehow. A day-care situation would be ideal but it’s a damn Catch 22, that one: Need to make money to pay for a babysitter/day care but I can’t get free long enough to make art for said monies….
The couple of bits of work I did manage to do have done well (read: hanging in a gallery and collected a good word here in there- One even sold! Yar!) yet haven’t been posted because my scanner broke and it hasn’t been replaced. I haven’t yet figured out a decent set up to photograph it. (The shots I have taken look like crap so far) Soon this hiccup will be resolved and I will get back to posting art again. I forget sometimes that doing non-digital art has it’s cute little analog problems.
